Protection of heritage and economic development can work together

Professor William Logan of IHP and Deakin University was interviewed recently by the New York Times, discussing how governments are focused on economic development while neglecting their UNESCO World Heritage sites.

“Heritage is fairly low down on the list for governments — they all want development,” William Logan said. “It’s hard to convince governments they can have heritage and development at the same time.”
